Headlines are easy when you’ve been gifted a news story like this! But ‘tis true the young kid Max Anstie has been ‘confirmed’ as an entry for this weekend’s Maxxis British Championship round at Hawkstone Park.

Anstie lines up in the battle against red plate holder Kevin Strijbos aboard the HM Plant KTM UK and Monster Energy Bike-It Yamaha’s Shaun Simpson who looks like being the main challenger at Hawkstone with Mattis Karro in doubt for the weekend due to injury.

The return of the Max will bring added sparkle to the Shropshire circuit but the twist in the tail is Anstie will be on a CRF450R in MX1 and not his usual Gariboldi Honda 250R. We’ll let you know who, what and importantly why just as soon as we get it from the horse’s mouth.

One of the highlights of the weekend should be an ‘open class’ head-to-head battle at the end of the meeting where surely the super-fit Ginge will be hoping to steal honours.
