Lewis Gregory returns to his roots with Rob Hooper’s Suzuki squad for Foxhill comeback…
The Maxxis Apico Suzuki squad will welcome a familiar face to the team for a one-off ride at the Foxhill round of the British Motocross Championship later this month as Lewis Gregory makes a return to the team after nearly three-years away. Lewis, who last raced for Hooper’s run back in 2008 will race the MX2 class at the Foxhill circuit alongside existing team riders Steven Clarke and Kayne Lamont.
“I’m very much looking forward to it,” says Lewis. “It’s like coming home for me. I enjoyed my time with Rob and the team immensely but since then have been dogged with arm-pump issues which have really impacted on my racing. To come back at Foxhill with a bike as competitive as the RM-Z250 with a team I know well is a perfect scenario and should give me no better environment to do well. I can’t wait.”
Riding alongside Gregory will be existing riders Kayne Lamont and Steven Clarke, who have both been buoyed by recent good performances. Clarke comes to Foxhill encouraged by a great race win in the Masters Championship recently and Lamont after taking an MX2 class win at Rhayader last week.
“It’s great to welcome Lewis back for Foxhill and especially to do it at a time when the spring is well and truly back in our step as a team,” adds team principal Rob Hooper. “Steven rode extremely well in his last outing, turning around his fortunes and Kayne’s taken his first win since arriving on British soil, so while I like to remain realistic, I’m feeling quite optimistic for Foxhill.”
