British championship racer Lewis Tombs is looking for a ride for next season after being released by the Verde Sports KTM team.

The 30-year-old Suffolk-based racer is a regular top-10 runner in the ACU British Motocross Championship and has been a title contender in both the Pro MX1 and MX2 classes of the Michelin MX Nationals over the past three seasons.

ā€œI got told the day before yesterday that there was nothing there for me,ā€ said Lewis. ā€œItā€™s a bit of tough news and Iā€™ve no idea what Iā€™m going to do ā€“ I donā€™t think thereā€™s anything out there for anyone to be honest. Itā€™s tough, especially because although I only did four races [in the MX Nationals] and showed good speed I didnā€™t have great results. Thatā€™s not going to help me.

ā€œIā€™ve spoken to a few people but everyoneā€™s waiting on stuff. Obviously, I want to carry on but everythingā€™s got to be right really. Itā€™s a big commitment and I donā€™t want to be doing it half-hearted. Hopefully something will come up.ā€

For the moment Lewis is concentrating on his building firm instead of planning out his 2021 season.

ā€œIā€™ve got a plot about five miles outside of Bury [St Edmonds] and weā€™ve just started two houses and Iā€™m just doing all the groundwork at the minute so thatā€™s keeping me very busy. Iā€™m knee-deep in mud so at least I feel like Iā€™m at a race!ā€
