The first KTM Race Camp in the UK has opened at FatCat Motoparc in Doncaster, Yorkshire. The off-road school is aimed at every motocrosser – from the occasional rider to the hardened professional – with tuition spearheaded by GP and Motocross des Nations winner Paul Malin.
Costing just £159 – including lunch and refreshments – the UK KTM Race Camp is open to riders aged six and above on all makes and models of MX machinery. No equipment is provided but the option of riding the very latest KTM machines is available with a fleet of hire bikes at an additional cost.
With three all-weather sand circuits of differing difficulty and excellent facilities, FatCat is regarded as one of the country’s premier motocross venues and each KTM Race Camp day is limited to just 10 places to ensure riders get the full attention of the instructors.
Whether it’s preparing for competition or just beating a mate on practice days, each course is structured to assess a rider and break down their riding into the individual techniques needed in MX. Through practical coaching and classroom sessions, every rider will come away with either new skills or existing ones sharpened.
“For KTM, ‘Ready to Race’ is much more than a marketing slogan – all our bikes are developed from racers competing and winning at the very highest level for all riders to benefit from,” says KTM UK Managing Director Shaun Sisterson. “The KTM Race Camps have been very successful in Europe and offer riders a chance to hone their skills at an excellent facility with the option of riding the latest SX range of KTMs.”
The full 2012 calendar will be released imminently but for those who can’t wait there will be one opening date in 2011 on November 27. For more information or to book a place visit the race camp section of www.ktm.com or call 07990 514509.
