Luckless Jordi Tixier is sadly dealing with yet another injury blow.

The former MX2 champion has had to deal with a catalogue of injuries over the past couple of seasons and he is yet again left with having to find the strength to overcome adversity.

During first practice at the recent Hawkstone International, the BOS GP rider felt some pain in his wrist. The pain was so bad he felt unable to race any motos. Jordi returned home to Paris to get medical assessments.

The doctors found that he had snapped a tendon in his right hand. Understandably, Jordi has found the news difficult to take after so many injuries and all the hard work he and his support team have put in over the winter months. It’s now a week since he had his surgery and the Frenchman is a little more upbeat so he took to social media to offer an update.

“I give you some news after some silent days,” the post said (via online translation). Unfortunately, they are not so good. After the first practice in Hawkstone Park International race I got some pain to my wrist. It was impossible to ride during motos. That make me sad.

“We decide to go straight to my doctor in Paris, and we realise one of the tendon of my hand were broken. It’s been a tough decision, I couldn’t believe it after so much hard work from my family and team for the winter training – testing… It’s been already a week that I got surgery. It went well and we give our best to be back as soon as possible on the bike and behind the gate.

“We are still so motivated for the upcoming season. Big thanks to all of you. JT911.”

BOS GP is now down to one rider for the start of the MXGP season which gets underway on March 4. There has been no statement from the team as to whether they will seek a replacement to race alongside Evgeny Bobryshev in Argentina.

Hopefully Jordi can recover fully and put all his injury troubles behind him. All at Dirt Bike Rider wish the champ a speedy recovery.
