Wilvo Forkrent KTM team rider Jake Nicholls clashed with Brad Anderson during the fifth round of the British Championship last weekend at Whitby.
As he went down, Jake hit the ground hard badly breaking the little finger on his throttle hand. He underwent an operation yesterday (June 30, 2014) to piece the shattered bones back together. The procedure included the finger being wired and pinned as well as having an external fixator fitted. A further operation to remove the metalwork will be required in approximately 5-6 weeks.
“We are all gutted for Jake,” said Team Manager Steve Turner. “It was a really nasty break and although many people think ‘it’s only a little finger and can’t be that serious’ that’s obviously not the case.
“Jake’s proved in the past that he has what it takes to fully recover from setbacks like this and I’m sure he will show the same determination again this time.”
Everybody at Wilvo Forkrent KTM and DBR wishes him a full and speedy recovery.
