Evans Waterless Coolants have been in touch about a recent announcement for their company. The coolants company are now in a technical partnership with the well established HM Plant KTM team owned by Roger Magee.
The KTM team are looking super strong for the 2014 season with Shaun Simpson and Mel Pocock spearheading the renewed assault on the MXGP and MX2 classes of the FIM Motocross World Championship and the MX1/MX2 divisions of the Maxxis British Championship.
The team bikes now run Evans Powersports, a coolant created specifically for off-road bikes to improve fuel burn, maximise BHP and eliminate boilover.
The waterless coolant had the perfect opportunity to demonstrate its performance benefits during this year’s Thai MXGP at Si Racha, where the searing heat and humidity loaded huge demands on the riders and their machines. Simpson pulled his first holeshot in three years and was very happy with the 450SX-F’s performance.
“The speed is definitely there. It was nice to be back at the front. The bike was solid all weekend and there were a lot of guys having problems in the heat,” said Simpson.
Powersports is the go to coolant for the Honda World MX team and many other factory and independent racing teams including Kawasaki, Yamaha, TM, David Knight, Fast Eddy Racing and Team St. George.
Being waterless, Powersports does not have the physical and chemical limitations of other coolants. It has a boiling point above 180 eliminating overheating, boil-over and after boil, while allowing the cooling system to run at a lower pressure, reducing strain on hoses and other engine components.
Powersports eliminates engine hotspots improving combustion and maximising BHP. And because there is no water in the fluid there’s no corrosion either. It is one of the easiest and best ways to protect your bike.
The MD of Evans Coolants UK, Steve Hickson said: “The HM Plant KTM team have a great track record and we are very pleased to be associated with them for the 2014 season. Powersports is a product that enhances performance and reliability in all conditions, it will help ensure the bikes are even more competitive this year and we wish the team every success.”
Mark Yates – Technical co-ordinator HM Plant KTM UK commented: “We are grateful with the support given to us by Evans Coolants and more importantly the quality of the product and its attributes.
“We have found the Evans waterless coolant not only allows the engine to run much cooler, but the stable and consistent manner in the way it does; gives us confidence of maintaining the maximum efficiency from our race engines without fear of boiling over especially in heavy going conditions.”
Roger Magee – Team Owner and Manager added: “It goes without saying that we strive to secure only the best partners for HM Plant KTMUK in order to provide our riders and technical personnel with the most competitive package available. With our new partner Evans Coolants, we have significantly improved part of our engine specification for 2014, and hopefully for many years to come”
