Heads & All Threads Suzuki and newly re-signed rider Graeme Irwin are heading to the Far East, after accepting an invitation to race the 2015 RM-Z450 for Suzuki Japan at the final round of the All Japan Motocross Championship this weekend.

Irwin and team manager Neil Prince are flying to Tokyo on Wednesday with the full support of head sponsor Heads & All Threads. This will give rider and team manager time to acclimatise before the weekend’s racing at the legendary Sugo circuit in the Miyagi prefecture.

The team are no strangers to the Japanese championship, after Irwin was invited by Suzuki Japan to compete in the same event last season. However, despite giving a good account of himself, a shoulder injury limited Irwin’s performance. This time though, Irwin is fit and ready and hoping to return with a win to round off the season.

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend and getting back on the new RM-Z450,” said Irwin. “The bike’s already made a big impact and obviously we took a moto win the first ever time we raced it at the final British round, so that stands us in good stead for this weekend.

“I enjoyed coming out to Japan last year and competing, but it was overshadowed slightly with my shoulder injury. This year however I’m feeling good and looking forward to challenging at the sharp end. I want to thank the factory Suzuki team in Japan for the invite.”

Neil Prince, – Team Manager commented: “Stuart from Heads & All Threads has made it possible for us to go and race the last round of the All Japan Motocross Championship.

“Suzuki Japan has kindly supplied us with the machinery to do the job this weekend in Japan. So Graeme and I will be boarding a flight on Wednesday, get set up on Thursday and then on Friday we’ll hit the track and get the bike ready for Saturday and Sunday.

“Hopefully this year we’ll have better results than last year, where we flew out injured after Graeme hurt himself at the Weston Beach Race. So yes, we’re all looking forward to it. And a big thanks again to Stuart from Heads & All Threads for making this possible, because without him we wouldn’t be going.”
