The very popular and highly talented freestyle motocross rider Petr Pilat has been injured during training.

The Czech rider yesterday suffered a bad fall while training and was airlifted to the University Hospital in Prague where it’s reported he was operated on due to internal injuries. Thankfully Petr has been stabilised and is out of danger.

A message has been posted on the FMX athletes Facebook page that confirms that Petr is “OK” following his surgery. His family appreciate the kind messages of support and ask that fans send “waves of positive energy”. You can read the Facebook post in full below.

Thank you all for your support and messages. Peta is OK after surgery. Doctors have stopped the internal bleeding. They said that everything is gonna be all right because he is the champion. And we know it! It really hurts him a lot, he even had a severe concussion of the brain, but he woke up today and even smiled at me and touched my hand. We believe and pray! Thanks again to all you guys and please send him even more waves of positive energy. Sister Veronika with whole family.

DBR certainly hope that Petr is able to make a full recovery and our thoughts are with him and his family.

Stay strong Petr. Your fans are thinking of you.
