It has been announced that the opening round of the Michelin MX Nationals, due to kick off at FatCat Motoparc this weekend, has been cancelled due to flooding.
The organisers announced the news this morning on their Facebook page along with some pictures and it doesn’t look good. You can read the full announcement below.
Really sorry to say that after a track inspection at 8.00am this morning, the track is waterlogged. More rain came last night and with two days of rain due leading up to the weekend, we have been forced to cancel the event this weekend.
Working closely with the track owners we have tried to make this decision as early as possible to avoid people travelling and minimise any costs incurred.
No decision has been made with regards re-running this event yet. The team at MX Nationals want to produce the best possible events and we do not cancel events easily as anyone that was at round one last year knows, but on this occasion, we do not feel that it would be possible to provide a national level event this weekend.
