With Stage 8 pushing the leading pair of Adrien Van Beveren and Kevin Benavides to just 22 seconds apart and Antoine Meo taking the Stage victory, Stage 9 beckoned. However, weather conditions have forced the organisers of the Dakar Rally to cancel Stage 9 for today (Monday, January 15).
Stage 9 would have taken place between Tupiza and Salta but the poor conditions mean the competitors will go by road and the event will pick up again at Stage 10 (Salta to Belen).
