Hero Motorsports kicked off their Andalucian Rally campaign with a victor by Joaquim Rodrigues in the Prologue stage.

The whole team managed to place in top five, with Rodrigues taking the top spot followed by team mates Sebastian Buhler grabbing a third and newbie Franco Ciami taking fourth place.

After successfully completing the administrative and technical checks over the week, the trio took to the start yesterday afternoon. The Short 8km stage consisted small narrow tracks with poor visibility, but still was a solid start to to the rally and soon categorized the order of riders for the first stage, taking place today May 13.

The first full stage of the rally will bring riders to the start line near the town of Arcos de al Frontera before setting them off on the 257kms of timed special stage, and bring the stage to a close at the bivouac in Villamartin.

“We had a good start to the rally today, with a first place finish,” said Rodrigues. “Our main goal is to test the bike and the new settings with Dakar 2022 in our sights and this is a good race to do that. I am really happy to get the rally off to a good result for the team.”
