Wigan racer claims back-to-back EWC Women's Cup wins

Joining trials star Emma Bristow on the list of 2020 female British world champions, Jane Daniels retained her FIM Women’s Enduro World Cup at last weekend’s GP of Portugal.

“I’m chuffed to bits,” she said. “It feels like all the years practising and racing building up to it were worth it but it doesn’t really change anything – although it’s nice to have a couple of world titles.

“I’d definitely like to defend it and go for a third one and they’re talking about having a three-round series next year which will be a lot more interesting than just the one-off weekend.”

The 26-year-old sports therapist has been riding enduros since she was 12 after trying the sport at race experience days. Although based in Lancashire, her main sponsor is St Blazey MX which is situated just outside St Austell in Cornwall.

“Steve from St Blazey helped me in 2015 and ’16 and we kept our friendship going so he’s helped me out again this year. They couldn’t get much further south if they tried but I couldn’t do this without them. It would be impossible.”
