Will Elliott Banks-Browne return to Arenacross race action this weekend?
After six weeks on the sidelines with a shoulder injury Elliott Banks-Browne is hoping to give himself a special birthday treat and keep Adam Chatfield off the top of the podium at round three of the Arenacross tour at the LG Arena, Birmingham, this Saturday night.
EBB, who turns 23 on February 2, has been putting in the laps over the last few days in a bid to get himself race fit and while he’s not 100 per cent sure he’ll be good to go the HM Plant KTM UK rider is giving it his best shot.
“The shoulder’s still not 100 per cent but I’m going to try and ride as much as I can this week,” he says. “If I can get some more riding in this week and if I feel I can be competitive then I’ll definitely be racing on Saturday night. I’ve been out on my bike three times now – I just want to get back racing.”
As part of his fitness battle EBB’s been having intensive physio and regular oxygen treatment to speed the healing process although he won’t jump the gun and only intends to race if he’s in it to win it.
“I don’t want to race unless I know I can go out there and do the business – I’m not going to Birmingham just to make up the numbers – but every time I ride my shoulder feels better and better and I feel stronger and stronger.
“I’m real disappointed to have missed the first two rounds and hopefully I’ll be good to go on Saturday – someone needs to stop Adam!”
