It’s a Honda clean sweep north o’ the border as the Red Bull Pro Nationals hits Duns…
Nico Aubin and Neville Bradshaw dominate proceedings at the third/fourth round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals at Duns taking a pair of class wins apiece in the mixed-capacity Pro Nationals races.
Aubin dominates on the day proving that his personal problems that saw him pull out of races just a few weeks ago are firmly behind him. Showing some of the form that’s seen him win GP motos the Frenchman powers to two outright wins to take maximum points in MX1 and close to within eight points of the series lead. Still not 100 per cent after his Desertmartin get off an aggressive Stephen Sword takes second overall with a 2-3 scorecard. Estonia’s Bert Krestinov takes the final podium spot with a 4-2 on the MVR-D Honda.
Breville Nadshaw was full of beans entering this round of the championship after returning to a favoured set-up on the Evo-Tech/Stevens Honda and he’s even more excitable after winning both 250 class motos. “What did I tell you dude?” says Nev after moto two referring to a conversation we had midweek where he predicted he was gonna be on it. As well as taking maximum points Bradshaw takes the series lead and will wear the red plate at the next round in Canada Heights.
By comparison there’s not much to celebrate for the Emberson Yamaha team whose team riders Steven Lenoir and Graeme Irwin had been running 1-2 in the series headed to Scotland. An electrical issue for Irwin in moto one and a get-off for Lenoir in moto two mean they both only score 20 points on the day taking a third and a DNF apiece – and that’s after finishing qualifying 0.003 of a second apart. Spooky.
With the Yamaha boys out and wildcard entry Elliott Banks-Browne running DNF-DNS as his bike spews all its oil out in moto one and seizes solid it’s two-stroke avenger Matt Moffatt and Tyco Suzuki’s Stuey Edmonds who round out the podium in the MX2 division.
