TLD athlete Cole Seely had to dig deep during the main event at the third round of the Monster Energy Supercross at Angel Stadium to finish sixth following a slide out in the first turn.

Once again, Seely transferred straight into the main from his heat race to start the night off on a solid note. He got a good jump out of the gate in the main and was maintaining a fast pace for the first lap before sliding out just after the finish line jump.

Thankfully he kept his bike running, allowing him to quickly remount and return to action in 11th place. He used the next 19 laps to pick off as many riders as he could, eventually crossing the finish line in sixth.

Seely’s come from behind finish has kept him close in the championship standings, placing fourth overall, just two points back of third and four points back from second.

“It’s such a bummer because I knew I had the speed to be back on the podium again,” said a disapointed Seely. “It’s a long season so I knew I had to make the best of a bad situation and thankfully came away with some good points. We’ll look to get back on the podium next week.”
