After the press conference this evening at the circuit of Assen the young team that will represent Italy at the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations, which will take place in Ernee, France on the weekend of September 27, was officially presented.

Martin Honda Junior Team’s Michele Cervellin will race in MX2 with Marchetti Racing Team KTM’s Ivo Monticelli in MXGP and TM Racing Factory Team’s Samuele Bernardini in the Open class.

As a token of support, the eight times FIM Motocross World Champion Antonio Cairoli gifted the riders the ‘Maglia Azzura’ (Italian T-Shirt). He said, “When I talked to the FIM I didn’t know if I had to have a surgery, now I’m sure that I can recover without any surgery and I can be back for the US GP, but the motocross of nations is a team race not an individual one and I don’t know if I could be in shape for that”. All three riders, Cervellin, Monticelli and Bernardi expressed their gratitude for this opportunity.

The Italian team manager Thomas Traversini explained “Our goal is to make these guys grow and have them back with a great experience on their shoulders. It’ll be useful for their future as riders and especially for further MXoN experiences.”
