One of the coolest sights at this year’s Garmin Arenacross Tour has been watching the way Spanish FMX superstar Edgar Torronteras has mentored new SW85cc champion Ben ‘The Bullet’ Burridge.
The mini missile from Derbyshire has ripped to four wins and a second this season to sew up the title and Edgar has been a constant fixture during Ben’s races, cheering on the youngster from the side of the track.
“Edgar has helped me every round,” says Ben. “We met him last year and me and my dad have been talking to him a lot. He’s a really cool guy and he’s helped me on my speed and gate picks – I want to thank him a lot, he’s been a huge help for me!
“It feels really good to be champion but I couldn’t have done it without everyone who’s helped – it been amazing.”
Third in 2013, Ben’s really stepped it up this time around and has impressed everyone with his speed and style.
“It was good last year but things didn’t go my way but this year I was a lot more prepared and ready for it! The best round for me has been Sheffield – it was my hometown race, the atmosphere was amazing and the track was perfect!”
