Lex Luthor lookalike Bryan MacKenzie powers his kryptonite-coloured Kawasaki to a British Masters MX2 title…

DBR’s devilishly handsome Scottish correspondent Harold McDuff dropped us a wee line to let us know that Edinburgh’s favourite son – Irn Bry MacKenzie – picked up his first major national title as an adult this weekend when he collected the win in the Wulfsport British Masters MX2 championship. The lean, mean haggis-eating machine ran 3-2 on what was a crash-filled day for the Maxxis Henderson LPE Kawasaki teamster but was still able to sew up the series one round early.

“Well naturally I’m really pleased to lift this championship,” says Bry. “It’s a small reward for the hard work that everyone on the Maxxis/Henderson/LPE team puts in to taking me and my team-mates racing week in and week out and it’s definitely given us a nice boost for the last two months of the season.

“I’ve had a great response from a sh*tload of people,” continues the pottymouthed Scotsman. “Way more than I could have ever imagined, congratulating me and stuff and that’s really awesome and I’d like to thank everyone for that but there’s still a job to do for the rest of the season so we’re still working hard to try carry the momentum on to finish the season on a similar high.”
