With immediate effect Vesty UK and Vesty Holdings, owners of the Apico brand, have new owners.

Dylan Brown and Anna Lena Eriksson have completed a management buyout, and are the new owners. After 30 yearsservice, Yrjö Vesterinen and Diane Vesterinen are handing over the reins to the younger couple, with over 40 years experience between them.

Yrjö ‘Vesty’ Vesterinen, who started the company along with his wife Diane from small beginnings in Guildford back in 1984, manufactured clothing under the Apico brand for Trials and Motocross riders in the UK and afar.

This has developed into a huge operation in off-road, now importing hard parts under the Apico and Raceline brands. Operating from a 25,000 sq ft warehouse and office facility in Burnley with 24 staff and also managing the UK distribution for some 60 plus brands including Arai, Polisport, Leatt, Twin Air, ANSR, MSR, Hinson, Boyesen, Pro Taper and many more.

“After putting such a large part of my life into Apico, it doesn’t feel like a business, more a living, breathing organism that Diane and I have nurtured from infancy to adulthood. We have enjoyed watching it grow and working with all our staff and many people in the off road industry over the past 30 years. I feel we have played an important role in shaping off road motorsport, from the built-in body belt in Apico MX pants and Lycra in Trials pants through to the current range of Apico hard parts, most of which I have developed myself.

Selling Vesty UK and associated assets was not an easy decision, though one Diane and I have given a lot of thought to for some time. Dylan and Anna have been both our employees and close friends for some time. We feel they have what it takes to continue with Apico and the distributed brands way into the future, and Diane and I wish them every success in their new roles as Directors of Vesty UK and associated companies”.

It is with sadness Apico’s staff will say goodbye to the 3 times World Trials Champion and his wife, though the future looks bright, with both Dylan and Anna having worked at Apico for a number of years, specialising in areas of Sales, Purchasing and Product Development.

Dylan Brown: “Both Anna and I have been given a fantastic opportunity in continuing to take the company forward and we both look forward to these exciting times ahead. Vesty UK has always traded with the same principles and this will continue to be the key to our growth and success”.

Anna Lena Eriksson: “We feel very privileged and honoured to have been given the opportunity to continue building on the legacy that Yrjö and Diane have created over the years. Generally not much will change in the way the company will operate. A good customer service is key to the business and will always continue to be.”
