The team behind the Apico 2-Stroke Festival has announced a postponement to the start of the three-round series, which was due to kick off this weekend at Marshfield.

Despite the team at Marshfield putting in a lot of work to pull it all together, organisers say the track is not up to the standard they expect and had promised to riders.

The driving force behind the two-stroke series, Dave Willet, said in a press release: “The track people had initially made assurances some time ago regarding improvements and this has not materialised in time.”

The first round is now switched to Iron Works on July 7/8 in Middlesbrough followed by the Sellindge round on August 4/5.

“The Marshfield round can still be re-run at a later date in the season. I can only apologise on behalf of all involved for having to cancel the meeting,” Willet added.

Track management was not available for comment.
