If you went down to the woods on July 29, 2012 then you were in for a huge surprise as Maxxis wildcard Max Anstie was hucking right over the rhythm section that now sits where the old whoops used to be.
While everyone else was going double-tabletop, Max was airing it out from the double takeoff and slapping down to earth in the centre of the table. Was it any quicker? Computer says no – despite thrilling the few fans who’d figured out what he was up to Anstie was only seventh fastest in Superpole some four seconds slower than polesitter Kevin Strijbos.
