The date of the 2018 Le Touquet Beach Race has been confirmed as January 27, with the classic event once again doubling up as the sixth and final round of the French Sand Championship.
The series – now arguably Europe’s most prestigious because of the number and quality of riders it attracts – will begin at Berck-Sur-Mer, just an hour south of Calais, on October 14. Sadly this again clashes with the Weston Beach Race which is certainly to the detriment of both events.
Round two then heads to Loon Plage on October 28, Saint Leger de Balson on December 2, Hossegor one week later, Grayan-et-L’Hopital on the January 6, before culminating at Le Touquet.
Last year’s championship was won by Frenchman Jeremy Forestier with Sheldon Seal being the highest placed British rider in 10th place overall.
