Weston Super Mare hosted the 38th annual beach race this weekend, with over 600 riders lining up to compete in the adult sunday solo race.
Joining the line up was sand master Todd Kellett, who grabbed a fantastic start to finish solo race leading from start to finish giving him his fourth well earned Weston Beach Race winner title for 2021.
Speaking to Kellett after the grueling three hour race, he still had a huge smile on his face despite the tough wet, sandy and windy conditions.
āIt was a nice race, I had a holeshot which was pleasant,’ explained Kellett.
“I just got my head down for a couple of laps and pushed really hard, and I managed to maintain the pace after that I didnāt do anything crazy, I just kept the rhythm going.ā
āI’m so happy I managed to bring it home, I managed to keep myself out of trouble and I didnāt end up through the fence which is always a bonus, I had a bit of trouble with my brakes but on the whole it was a perfect day for me.”
