Jeffrey Herlings revealed today that he has undergone another surgery on the ankle injury that almost completely destroyed his 2019 season. But it’s okay, he’s happy to get this one done.
The metalwork he was left with earlier this year limited his movement but will have aided him in his recovery. To be set for the upcoming season Herlings will want to enter into his off-season regime at full tilt and he hopes this surgery will help in that effort.
And he’ll need to hit the ground running when the season starts on February 23.
For 2020, there will be a whopping 21 world titles on show spread across seven talented riders. With reigning champion Tim Gajser and former champ Romain Febvre ā newly energised on a KRT ā to name just two, it will not be a pushover.
But then there are his Red Bull KTM team-mates: Nine-time world champion Tony Cairoli and two-time champ ā and new hotshot to MXGP ā Jorge Prado (what a team by the way!). Every rider that lines up on the MXGP gate in 2020 will know they will have to bring their very best to even have a shout of getting on the podium, let alone a grand prix win.
