Jason Anderson has given an injury update following an incident during practice at Glen Helen. It means the 450SX Supercross champion could be out for multiple rounds of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Champion ā although there is a debate at DBR Towers whether he may choose to ride through the pain.
Anderson, along with many other Pro riders, was practising at the Glen Helen circuit ahead of this weekend’s Pro Motocross Thunder Valley round when another rider collided with him.
At the time there was no official word from the team or Anderson to say if he had been left with a substantial injury. Pictures did show Anderson being carried off the track by his mechanic which left moto fans concerned over his condition.
Jason Anderson has now confirmed he has a compound fracture to his right foot. It’s a huge blow but will it rule him out of contention for the Pro Motocross title? One thing is for sure, a foot injury like this is not something you would want to have at somewhere like Thunder Valley.
“A bump in the road but I will be back as fast as possible and I will race before the season is over,” wrote Anderson on social media. “Sorry everyone I won’t be making it this weekend but I’ll be back A$AP [sic].”
His team, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing, have not released any official information but if Anderson is out that leaves the team without a rider with team-mate Dean Wilson also on the sidelines after sustaining injury at the Glen Helen track just a few weeks earlier.
