A new stop on the International motocross calendar will take place on April 1 at the Valdemorillo circuit in Spain.
The Valdemorillo circuit welcomes hundreds of riders every week to train at one of the better-prepared tracks of the Mediterranean nation and on Easter Sunday the MX Madrid Park returns to the international scene with an event that the organisers say will attract many World and European championship riders.
This new international will be held one week after the Spanish Grand Prix at RedSand and one week before the Arco di Trento event, making it ideally placed to offer teams training facilities in Spain ahead of the hardpack race in Italy.
It will be held on Sunday, April 1 with MX1, MX2 and 85cc classes, as well as the possibility of training on the track for several days during that same week.
Valdemorillo is just over half-an-hour west of Madrid, in a tourist area at the foot of the mountains and next to the historic San Lorenzo de El Escorial. The event organisers say they have already confirmed several big names for the April 1 race with MX1, MX2 and 85cc classes but are not able to make them public at this time.
You may recall the Valdemorillo circuit is the same track that held the 2013 Red Bull Give Me Five. It was a five-lap showdown that included Ryan Dungey, Ken Roczen, Tony Cairoli and Marvin Musquin where Dungey was crowned the winner.
