Team Honda HRC has just put out an update on Ken Roczen’s injuries following his crash at the San Diego round of Monster Energy AMA Supercross.
Roczen came together with Cooper Webb; Roczen’s Honda flipped and his right arm got caught in Webb’s rear wheel. Following last year’s horrendous left arm injury people were fearing the worst.
The statement from Honda offers some further insight to his injuries but the German will need further medical assessment tomorrow (Monday).
“Ken Roczen had a tough night, getting sidelined early after coming together with Webb,” read the Honda statement. “After initial evaluation by the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit, Roczen has suffered a fracture to the second metacarpal in his right hand. He’ll visit his doctor on Monday for further evaluation and more information will be released.”
Although apparently not as serious as his last injury, this will be a huge blow for the popular rider. We’ll keep you updated as we get more news but in the meantime, we wish Ken a full and speedy recovery. If you missed the Roczen crash you can catch it below.
