The leading EMX300 riders are planning to head to Orlyonok in Russia next weekend.
The high costs and logistics of the trip have been a significant deterrent for many of the EMX300 riders and securing sports visas for Russia is not a task for the faint-hearted.
But the lure of the red plate is apparently proving too great a temptation for many of the leading two-stroke riders. Rumour in the MXGP pits last weekend in Ernee, France is that at least 10 of the regular EMX300 riders will now make the trip.
There were concerns that the round would be cancelled but with a number of local Russian riders also expected, those fears appear to have been extinguished.
