You just can’t keep a good man down. A matter of weeks after announcing that he was stepping away from racing, James Dunn is making a return to the sport he loves.

Following a run of injuries and a bout of glandular fever in 2016, Dunn made the decision to step away from racing just a few weeks ago.

However, he did say at the time that his “love for racing is still huge” and that he planned to return to race “selected events” later on this season.

James will now get the opportunity to return to motocross as he steps in for Lewis Gregory at GL12 KTM Racing to compete in select rounds of EMX300 series, which kicks off this month in Teutschenthal, Germany.

Before that, he’ll get a chance to race the next round of the Two-Stroke British championship at Hawkstone Park. In fact, if he hadn’t gone off to Vegas on stag do he’d have been at the gate at last weekend’s Canada Heights.

With Mike Kras as a teammate, who laid down a perfect weekend of two moto wins at Canada heights, GL12 Racing is looking like a strong team for the British two-stroke series.

We think James and GL12 are a great match and we’re looking forward to seeing what the talented #200 rider can do on the GL12 Racing KTM two-stroke beast. After all, the last time James raced two-stroke in a European series he gave a little-known rider called Tim Gajser a schooling.

Welcome back, James.
