Team BTO Sports took on a new challenge this past weekend, as they took part of the United States Grand Prix at Glen Helen, part of the Monster Energy World Motocross Championship, with newly signed team rider Davi Millsaps making his racing debut for the team.

Davi looked strong despite the hot weather and used this race to better prepare for Monster Energy Cup and the upcoming season.

With the two day format of the USGP, Millsaps would use Saturday’s practice sessions to shake down his new KTM and find the fast lines of the Glen Helen racetrack.

He would battle a mid-pack start in his qualifier and work his way up to 13th at the chequered flag.

Millsaps came out prepared in race one on Sunday as he would run inside the top 10 early on and with Engine Ice keeping his engine cool in the 100 degree heat, would hang on to finish 16th.

He blasted out of the gate in race two, using the explosive power of his FMF Racing exhaust system to start inside front pack. From there, Millsaps would utilise his WP Factory Services suspension to tame the rough Glen Helen track working his way to 10th place at the chequered flag and taking 11th overall on the day.

“It was a good weekend overall,” Millsaps said of his day. “The goal was to get out and run at race pace and I was able to do that out there. Now I am looking forward to Monster Cup and defending my number #1 plate.” The team is now focused on Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas on October 17, where team riders Andrew Short and Justin Brayton will join Davi Millsaps as he defends his MEC title.
