Jake Nicholls will miss this weekend’s British GP after complications to the wrist injury he sustained in February.

The 25-year-old Wilvo Forkrent KTM rider broke his right radius and ulna in a French pre-season international. Despite returning to action with solid results in the British championship, an X-ray after round three of the Maxxis series showed that his ulna still hasn’t healed.

“I still had hopes of racing the British GP,” said Jake, “but the surgeon actually texted me and said I should get a second opinion so I saw a bloke in London last week who confirmed that the break hasn’t healed.

“It’s very frustrating. I was racing five weeks ago, feeling positive and looking forward to getting back into it and after Canada Heights I was confident everything was going to be fine.

“I’m hoping that in the next two-and-a-bit weeks the bone heals or I’m going to need a difficult operation with plates and a bone graft.”
