Phoenix’s Chase Field was the scene for round two of the 2015 Monster Energy Supercross season. And Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki removed any doubt that they intend to clinch another 250SX Western Region Championship. Tyler Bowers is building consistent top finishes in the Main Events, while Chris Alldredge demonstrated impressive performance in qualifying, his heat race and the Main.
Consistency
With the fourth fastest time in qualifying and a second place in Heat 1 aboard his Kawasaki KX250F, Bowers hammered home his championship ambitions. The Main was set for a display of dominance, however, a bind-up in turn one at the start left Bowers in 16th place. This would have been a real discouragement, if Bowers hadn’t proven his ability to fight back from behind in Anaheim in round one. And that is exactly what he did. Bowers systematically and relentlessly picked of riders in front of him one by one, ending up with a fourth place finish, locking third place in the 250SX Western Region points chase.
Building Momentum
Alldredge had a challenging start at his Anaheim debut in his Monster Energy Supercross debut, but his riding at Chase Field showed a pick up in momentum and his ability to move out towards the front of the pack.
The first sign that Alldredge was on the upswing was in qualifying, he laid down the seventh fastest lap. And in his heat race he finished in seventh place. At the start of the Main, Alldredge pinned the throttle and made it around the first corner in front of the huge logjam. He was able to move up to fifth place and maintain the pace of the race leader for four laps and ultimately finished 15th. Although, Alldredge has not made a podium finish yet, his progress is undeniable and he is expected to make improvements with each event.
