KTM riders again dominated round six of the 2014 Maxxis British Motocross Championship which was held at the superb FatCat facility on Sunday.
Although the MX1 class was full of strong opposition for Shaun Simpson he still recorded three straight moto wins.
After qualifying first it was expected that Tommy Searle would push Simpson hard for his wins, but after mounting a couple of determined challenges at mid-race distance the Kawasaki rider had to settle for a brace of runner-up positions while Nathan Watson scored consistently for the lower step of the podium (4-3-3).
Matiss Karro hit top form on his favourite deep sand circuit with three hard-fought victories to turn a three points deficit into a 23 point advantage after his main championship rival, Mel Pocock had a difficult day with 3-7-6 finishes.
The MX2 class had the closest racing with a handful of riders circulating lap after lap in close company but at the end of the day Ben Watson just squeezed out Adam Sterry for the runner up spot after both recorded a 60 points haul.
The next round of the championship takes place in three weeks time at Cusses Gorse in Wiltshire.
