The final round of the European Championship EMX125 and EMX250 will take place in Lommel, Belgium, on the weekend of August 3. And not surprisingly Lommel is a venue that attracts a large number of entries.
That’s a great way to finish off the series but the popularity brings with it issues that Youthstream, the race organiser, needs to manage.
Youthstream announced today that only the top 50 championship riders will be eligible to race the seventh round. For each missing rider from the top 50, additional riders will be added based on the standings before Lommel.
The rule is designed to give the riders who have already contested either the EMX125 or EMX250 championship (and received enough championship points), a fair chance when they make their final bid for a place in the 2014 European Championship EMX125 and EMX250 overall standings.
