Strijbos streaks further ahead in MX1 with another maximum at Hawkstone while Pocock takes hold of the MX2 red plate once more…
There seems to be no stopping Kevin Strijbos in the British championship this year and the Belgian HM Plant KTM UK rider streaked to another three wins at round six of the series held at Hawkstone Park in Shropshire. Pushed slightly by overall runner-up Max Anstie and third-placed Shaun Simpson Strijbos is simply unstoppable and takes his fourth maximum score of the series so far.
In MX2 the battle between Elliott Banks-Browne and Mel Pocock picks up where it left off in Ireland. Pocock takes first blood after early leader EBB’s KTM stops running for the second time this season while Frenchman Nico Aubin wins the second moto after EBB slides off while holding down the lead. Mel takes another class win in the mixed-capacity third moto (he’s seventh outright) while EBB finishes directly behind him. However, the damage is done and with Mel outscoring Elliott by 24 points on the day he now takes a 16 point lead into the final two rounds at Langrish on Bank Holiday Monday and Little Silver in October.
