Jarvis wins Red Bull Romaniacs for the second time with a dominant display on the final day…
Not even a huge crash on the final day caused by a length of fencing wire getting caught in his back wheel can stop Husaberg’s Graham Jarvis from winning the world’s hardest enduro rallye. Grimbo dominated this year’s race winning the prologue and three of the four stages to take his second Romaniacs victory.
“It was another tough day and I had to keep pushing because I knew that Chris would never give up. I caught a wire in my rear wheel which sent me crashing and I had to work quite a bit to get that out of my bike. But I am happy to have won the Red Bull Romaniacs for the second time now! It is such a great race and I hope to be back next year. The support from Husaberg and Golden Tyre was great!”
Although Birch tries hard he is no match for Jarvis. “Today I had my hardest day so far, this was quite tough but definitely a fun ride. Coming second to Graham is okay in my book – the guy is incredible! And I love this race, if anyone out there is thinking about doing it, I can only encourage you: I have done allsorts of races around the world and this is by far the best. Just make sure you pick the right class!”
Bolts is gifted fourth – behind Andreas Leetinbichler – when Xavi Gallindo hits trouble above a rock face and the bike went down vertically landing next to a lake from where it was unrecoverable. After getting rid of his race gear Xavi decides to swim to the other side of the lake for help. There, a rowing boat is quickly high jacked and used as a ferry to get his bike back on track. An hour later he’s back in the race and finishes 10th for the day losing two spots in the overall classification.
