Rideoffroaduk are running round one of their Iron Man Challenge at Low North Park near Scarborough on June 19.
The format for the event is simple. An Open Challenge class for expert and clubman grade riders – either iron man or two-man team – and Club Challenge class for sportsman, beginner, all vets and ladies class riders – either iron man or two-man team. One race starting at 11am sharp running for four hours.
The most popular choice so far as competitors book in is the two-man team event. By simplifying the classes, expert and clubman can team up in the Open Challenge or sportsman, vets and beginners can do the same in the Club Challenge.
There are special rates for pre-paid two-man team entries while solo iron man entries have only a slight increase on usual club races.
The two-man team atmosphere will be great to experience with friends and rivals joining forces for the weekend. Riders can share or use their own machine with same race number as their partner.
The solo iron man class is exactly what you’d expect – one man (or woman), made of iron, going it alone for the full four hours.
The course will be around 18 minutes per lap incorporating massive woodland areas, the MX track, stream crossings and many open tracks and trails.
The event starts at 11am sharp and riders and their families are encouraged to make a weekend of it by camping over. Gates open at 9am on Saturday.
