Aussie freestyle legend Robbie Maddison hooked up with local hero Gilmar Flores at the Brazilian Corumba waterfalls for a photoshoot to publicise Saturday’s second round of the Red Bull X-Fighters in Brasilia.

“It’s a special experience to be able to do some tricks in front of such a natural spectacle – and not even get wet,” says Maddo, one of the favourites to win Saturday’s competition on the Avenue of the Ministries in front of an expected crowd of 60,000 fans.

It’s the second time that the X-Fighters tour has stopped off in Brazil. In 2008 Jeremy Stenberg jumped his way to victory in Rio de Janeiro. On Brasilia’s Esplanada dos Ministerios, where the country’s political direction is decided in the 24 ministries that line the avenue, kickers and landing hills have been built up in front of an historic backdrop, the high-rise buildings designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer.
