Following on from a highly successful youth MX career which saw him as one of the leading national performers of the previous decade, 19-year-old Jed Etchells opens up 2020 with a significant move in his Enduro career.
The Manxman has signed on the dotted line for the Italian Fantic D’arpa Racing Team.
“I’m glad to say in 2020 I will be riding for the Fantic D’arpa Racing Team,” said Jed.
“I’m really excited now to get the racing season going and start working with this team to bring back some good results. I’m feeling more motivated than ever.”
Having won a European Enduro title in 2019, after finishing fourth in class in 2018, Etchells will take part in this year’s Enduro World Championship in the Youth class and also in the Italian Championships riding the new Fantic XE 125 as a member of the Moto Club Sicilia.
Arriving in Italy on February 1, Etchells will join up with team-mates, Giuliano Mancuso and Hugo Svard.
“I’m happy about Jed’s arrival in the team,” said team boss Marco D’Arpa.
“Together with Hugo we present a team of athletes who will be able to have their say in the world championship. From them, I expect a lot because they are guys who have not yet expressed all their potential.”
