GL12 Racing KTM signed off from the Power Maxed Arenacross Tour in Wembley Arena on Saturday night with its head held high.

Going bar-to-bar against some of Europeā€™s best specialist indoor racers mounted on powerful four-strokes was never going to be easy but Mike Kras and James Dunn gave stroker fans something to cheer throughout the series.

Although neither rider made the Main Event in London, both raced with pride and respect for their rivals with Mike running 9-9 in his heats and James carding 8-10 as they filled the iconic arena with the sound ā€“ and smell ā€“ of two-stroke machines.

ā€œThe Arenacross series for GL12 Racing and me personally has been a very positive and enjoyable experience,” said Team Principal Bob Buchanan.

ā€œIt has kept the team together as a unit through the winter and kept us and our sponsors in the public and media focus. The riders have had gate and race time and are fit and sharp for the outdoor season to come ā€“ plus we filled arenas across the UK with a different sound and smell.

ā€œThank you to everyone too numerous to mention for helping us do it and also to Mike, Jim, Ade and Jack for their work and to Matt Bates for the series ā€“ it is a great show that lets people who would not normally see our sport get a taste of it.ā€

Mike Kras was similarly enthusiastic about the AX experience: ā€œThe AX series is done and dusted and when I look back it was a really fun thing to do so I want to say a big thank you to Bob and the rest of the GL12 Racing team,” he said.

ā€œRacing the two-stroke was never easy but the reactions from the fans and my fellow riders was awesome. It always looks way more easy then it really is but I got double the seat time than I normally would in January and I am happy to be in one piece.

ā€œOf course, I am not happy with the results I got in the series but maybe next year we will try again.ā€

The indoor series went too quickly for Dunn: ā€œThe AX series has been awesome but has gone so quickly for me,” he said.

ā€œThe last round at the weekend in London was a disappointing non-qualifying result for me but every round has been a good challenge and itā€™s been super-fun racing the two-stroke indoors against the four-strokes!

ā€œThe whole AX tour had been a great experience and I just have to thank Bob, Ade and everyone at the GL12 Racing team for the opportunity and the support throughout the series! I look forward to moving outdoors for the rest of the season!ā€
