With its killer mix of all-action indoor dirt bike racing and gravity-defying Freestyle Motocross – set to a pumping soundtrack and laser show – Arenacross is a non-stop, three-hour white-knuckle ride. And it’s back for 2014!

The throttle-twisting, adrenalin-charged indoor offspring of Motocross, Arenacross exploded into four of the UK’s premier venues earlier this year where it treated 30,000 fans to an unforgettable experience.

Arenacross takes the most spectacular elements of outdoor MX, boils them down into a concentrated cocktail and then shoehorns them into arenas onto purpose-built dirt tracks. Racing is short, sharp and shockingly spectacular with huge triple jumps, murderous mogul sections and fast, banked corners all designed to provide a high-octane sensory feast.

With Freestyle Motocross the competition takes place 40 feet above the track with riders hitting purpose-built ramps and then attempting to out-do each other as they whip and back-flip 100kg motorcycles in a death-defying display of aerial gymnastics. Once considered MX mavericks, freestylers are now highly-paid sporting stars who compete in year-round world tour events such as the X Games.

For 2014 we’re building on the solid foundations we laid this year and upping the stakes by visiting three amazing new venues and rolling out a seven-round series that travels from Belfast to London via stopovers in Birmingham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Sheffield.

“After the success of this winter’s all-new Arenacross series it made sense to increase the tour to take in more cities and I’m really pleased to have added Newcastle, Sheffield and London’s infamous Wembley Arena for 2014,” says Matt Bates, MD of series promoter e22 Sports. “We’re aiming to hit 50,000 spectators over the winter in a showcase of indoor racing and Freestyle action and what better place to do it than the comfort of an arena.”

The 2013 Arenacross tour was an amazing success, selling out venues across the country, turning on a new mainstream audience to the joys of AX and showing established fans the true potential of the sport. And if you took in a show this year, prepare to have your mind blown all over again in 2014 as e22 Sports takes it to another level altogether.

“We’re not planning on standing still either,” adds Matt. “If you thought Arenacross was great this year it’ll blow your mind in 2014!”
