British trials bosses have today confirmed a 2021 series which will run along similar lines to this year.

The four classes, Trial GB, Trial 2, Trial Expert and Trial 125 will all ride 12 sections over a three-lap course. While the Experts and 125s will share the same route, the T2 and GB routes will each differ.

A new innovation for 2021 is that either an Expert or Trial 2 rider can move up a class at the start of the season, but if the rider finds the new class too challenging, he can move down before round three and still score points in the remaining rounds in the lower class but points gained in the first two rounds will not be carried forward.

“With such uncertainty at the moment it is good to have the plans for 2021 in place. We shall shortly be announcing a new Title Sponsor and also details of a new results system which is currently being developed,” said series manager Brian Higgins.

There will not be any formal registration for the series, but in January all of the expected Trial GB and Trial 2 riders will be contacted and asked to confirm their commitment to the full series to gain a regular riding number. The sections will still have the one-minute allowance to be ridden as in 2020.
